When planning for Outdoor Learning there are a wide range of organisations and resources available to support schools. Schools and settings can access support via Hwb, as well as through the Wales Council for Outdoor Learning, including their guidance on ‘High Quality Outdoor Learning for Wales’ outlining organisations, resources and support available in Wales.
Learning through Landscapes have created ‘Social Distancing in School Grounds’ support posters on how school grounds can be organised for social distancing. They have also put together a series of webinars on how to implement plans to make more use of school outdoor spaces and lesson ideas.
Institute for Outdoor Learning offer supporting resources including CPD.
Pembrokeshire Outdoor Schools (PODS)
Pembrokeshire Outdoor Schools (PODS) has been posting an Outdoor learning idea or resource each day on Facebook and Twitter since lockdown began. The posts have received positive engagement by teachers and home-learning families. Learning ideas shared on the online platforms have been liked and shared here in Pembrokeshire by teachers, parents and practitioners but also further afield, in Swansea and Cardiff and even made it to Australia and New Zealand. PODS have been tagged in images of students in action learning outside using the PODS learning ideas.
