At home activities: Ice freeze-
Equipment needed-
- Ice tray or containers
- Tuff tray or plastic tray/box
- Natural resources to set in ice e.g. Flowers or little plastic toys
- Hammers
- Watering cans
- Paint brushes
Step by step-
- Collect some ice trays/freezable containers, plastic toys, flowers and food colouring
- Put your items into the various size containers
- If using food colouring, now is the time to mix this with water
- Add the different colour water to your containers, pouring it over the items you’ve added
- Put into the freezer and leave overnight
- Once they are frozen, empty them into your tray/box and talk about how the ice feels
- Support the children in melting the ice using the warmth of their hands and using extra water and paint brushes
- Watch your hidden toys and flowers emerge
